Every user that is entered into the system is dumped into the person bucket. From the person bucket they are then parsed out into other buckets, either application (prospective student) or staff. Staff is then parsed into two smaller buckets: support staff (administration) or academic staff (faculty). Without a student or staff record, a user will not be able to log into the system. You can create a student record by searching for the prospect’s application. Under the Action column of the search results, click Create Student. For creating a support staff or academic staff record, search the user on the person screen, then click Create Staff Record under the Action tab of the search results.
