When setting up eduTrac SIS, one of the screens under the forms menu is CIP, and CIP stands for Classification of Instructional Programs. According to NCES’s (National Center for Education Statistics) website, CIP’s are used to provide a taxonomic scheme that supports the accurate tracking and reporting of fields of study and program completions activity.

Since there are a great number of CIP codes out there, eduTrac SIS doesn’t come prepackaged with CIP codes. If you would like to add and use CIP codes, NCES has a list of them on their website categorized by fields of study:
