I too tried changing the class in code from “form-control” to selectpicker form-control” but that disabled the list.
Exactly!

Twitter | Facebook | DigitalOcean | tinyCampaignNo, the term is important here, we can’t take that out. As you mentioned it could make more accident prone.
Or do select term -> search Section instead of scrolling through the list. I think this option is what you are after. However, this was tested when the current feature was added/updated. The problem is that the term and section list doesn’t exist really in the code. It is being created when needed.
yup this is what I am looking for kind of search in course section drop down.I too tried changing the class in code from “form-control” to selectpicker form-control” but that disabled the list.
So, you are suggesting to get rid of the term and make the course section searchable/filterable? Wouldn’t that make it more accident prone if admissions chooses the wrong section because someone wasn’t paying attention to the term?
So, if we do select Term -> select Subject/Department -> select Section, this would mean that admissions would need to know what subject/department each of the course sections are connected to. I don’t think that would be feasible for all institutions.

I know this is a problem especially with growing terms, but a perfect solution hasn’t been discovered yet.

Twitter | Facebook | DigitalOcean | tinyCampaignYes, because if there are 10 courses and each has a like at least 5 or 6 modules/classes each that could make around 50 or 60 and if you take online learning, part time and some courses run across some places outside.
I mean the list can go big just for one term and these would be like 3to4 month courses so you can say these kinds of courses would be running 2to3 times in a year, we have 3 terms/year.
So that could make a huge list for a just single term, and when someone wants to enrol a student to a single course section that could make them difficult just to remember what is what.
I am just thinking different ways to make it easy for admissions, a search filter is a kind of basic but if there is something like filter/category which can further filter down all the course-sections just like the term, may be department/subject, I am not sure just a thought.

Twitter | Facebook | DigitalOcean | tinyCampaignThis reply has been marked as private.Theoritically yes, but it sounded like it’s not a good thing.
I am just trying out few things, the only reason is to make the process easy. I mean there are some courses which run like 10 or more times yearly with 1or2 differnet types of classes(part-time,seasonal etc), so finally we end up with 20 or 30 course-sections for a single course.
So just want to try reusing a course-section once it’s finished, it may be helpful in some cases.
Now i can see it’s really not a good idea!!
I’m a bit confused by the question. You want to change/update a term on an existing course section that has been completed and is connected to students, student terms, student acad credits, transcripts, in which everything is based on unique terms?

Twitter | Facebook | DigitalOcean | tinyCampaignHi,
Can we just change the “term” after the course-section is finished, I mean after the course-section(class) is finished and students get their grades.
The section will just be their, so instead of creating the new section for the course every semester or year. Can’t the term be changed and the course-section can be continued or clone as new?
I can see changing the “Term” for a “course-section” resets all the booking info and stuff and that’s actually good, so can’t the term be changed instead of creating a new section every time?
If yes what’s the proper way to change it?
Course sections are created from active courses. Course sections can only be created by person’s who have that type of permission. Course section crea
