In Installation, the recommended PHP version is 7.0. I believe Ubuntu 18.04 uses PHP version 7.2 which isn’t supported yet by etSIS.

Twitter | Facebook | DigitalOcean | tinyCampaignI ended up deleting the install, the level of documentation is very scares and the community seems small and level of support seems even smaller, restricted to about a couple. This is one project that has good promise to blow up but community is very important. It start by having a good and open documentation, open discussion, the higher the install base the more people would like to contribute to the project.
I for one would like to contribute. so please drop your suggestion on what could be wrong with my install. I will come back and do a detailed documentation for new users if I ever get it to work.
cheers.
Just to add that I have followed the troubleshooting suggestion below

Hello everyone, I am a system administrator for a research based University in Africa. We are considering migrating from our current Student Information system and edutrac is high on our consideration list. I am currently trying to evaluate it if it fit for purpose. I have set out to install it on our cloud instance here http://sis.aust.edu.ng however the installation has not been smooth (lot of which is thanks to incomplete documentation) anyway finally solved all the errors (from nginx error page at least) but now I am getting a blank / white page when I visit the site.
There are no errors in the access.log or error.log file and app/tmp/log contains only a index.html file and no *.txt log file.
The server configuration is ubuntu 18.04 with ngnx as servers. I followed the installation instructions to a letter and even setup the .htaccess as suggested.
I have searched the forums and noticed some people also had similar issues however most of the suggested solutions were “marked as private” meaning I was unable to tap from to use in resolving my own issue.
I personally understand the need to make money doing free software, but I think this software needs to expand it’s install base and to do that, the documentation needs be better and community needs be more open. An easy installation would lead to more adoption which would lead to more support and more paid subscription model. I would appreciate if this issue can be resolved for me though so thanks in advance
